PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND
SPRING 2012
One word: SICK!
This collection is perfection. It’s such a wonderful and creative use of classic prints & patterns, a spot on color story and exercises in draping and layering. This is why I love fashion. I especially love what this brand is bringing to modern clothing without completely letting go of the classic elements of tailoring.
ZERO + MARIA CORNEJO
BRIGHT YELLOW FEATHER CUFF
I came across this amazing piece as I was doing color research for work. Simply put, pretty much everything about this is awesome.
Waylon & Jessi Cuff
fail + CANOE
Super cool, simple yet refined. I love wearing jewelry and clothing or anything crafted that looks like it could have been hand manufactured before or during the rise of the industrial era.
AN ART NOUVEAU ENAMEL AND MULTI GEM BUTTERFLY, BY BOUCHERON
Elizabeth Taylor Collection at Christie’s
I love this piece. I used to have this great dragonfly brooch that I used to redrape my oversized dashiki caftan. It was such a great dress for the summertime. I’m considering using that outfit as an inspiration for one of my Saltri pieces.
I would also love to consider the shape and multi media content of the butterfly piece as inspiration for a stand alone piece that also delivers functionality. Possibly mimicking the way I utilized the dragonfly brooch.
EDDIE BORGO
Spring 2012
I love mixing delicate materials with hard metals. This is a trend that’s been evolving a lot in the last few years. I hope to see more of this in the future.
